The Evolution of The Sundogs

What do you get when you meld the soulful Southern Rock feel of The Black Crowes with the downhome sound of The Georgia Satellites?  The Sundogs.  Based out of Atlanta, Georgia, The Sundogs are bassist Will Haraway, guitarists Matt Ulmer and Lee Haraway and drummer Andrew Hanmer.

Their newest album, “Instrument of Change” (which is available on iTunes), while modern, is reminiscent of the Southern Rock greats of the 1970s like Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Band.  The vocals are bluesy and soulful but not overpowering.  They incorporate rawness of rock with the heart of the South and have proven themselves to be up-and-comers of the Atlanta music scene.

The Sundogs have been making music together for the last five years and in that time, they have grown together and formed a very obvious chemistry which is demonstrated in the music they make.

They describe their long-awaited second album, “Instrument of Change” as a testament to their evolution as a band and say that, while their style is mostly the same as it was on their first record, they have grown into the band that they are today and will continue to evolve.  They have proven themselves as not just another Alt-Country band, but as a growing, changing rock band with a passion for making music.  Will attributes their ongoing evolution to Matt, saying that “he is always pushing us to be a little groovier” and groovy they are.
